Vegas Baby!!! Before and After Bed set and Buffet

My week in Las Vegas!!!

Did I gamble my money away?......No

I refinished my sister's bedroom set and my mom's buffet.

I'm from there, so I never gamble. That's just dumb!

This picture is the only "before" picture I took. I know, I know, I always forget!

Dresser w/hutch, 2 night stands and 1 Armour. We still need to do her bed but ran out of time. 

 The set was our Grandma’s and it is at least 40 years old. But it is great, well-built and very heavy furniture. I have the bruises to prove it!

  

This room looked like this for a whole week!

 

 It was a lot of hard work and many hours but it turned out beautiful.

This is missing the doors that were still drying.

She wanted it black and shinny. Don’t we all just love shinny things! J

 I love the glass knobs.

 Their dog Zoe wanted in on the fun!

We also refinished my mom’s buffet. This piece is a million years old. My mom purchased it about 30 years ago from a woman that refinished furniture. J But it was in pretty bad shape after all these years.

And Now.......

 There was a drawer that went on the bottom but it was broken. So now she will just add some cute baskets.

 I wanted to bring it home with me!!! Not that I have any place to put it! But it’s so pretty!!!!

How to Make a Table Runner in 10 minutes

2 yards of burlap $5.94

You can make 4 runners out of this amount! 

2 yards of ruffle $2.98

I just had a little left over.

Before and After (again) Blue Buffet

I bought this dresser at a yard sale last year for 5 dollars. I refinished it, left some drawers out and put baskets in their spot. Sorry this was the only picture I could find.:) That's my handsome little man, Halloween  last year. It was in my entryway, then when I refinished the other dresser, you can see in previous posts, it ended up in the garage for a few months. And now...............

Ta Da......................Here she is a beautiful blue buffet for my dinning room!

Isn't she pretty!!

Don't look at my dining room wall. Yes, I'm changing the color yet again!! No, I have not decided yet, but I'm thinking in the grey family.

Found this blue and silver tea set at a yard sale for 6 dollars! Everything else I have had in my closet waiting to come out!!!

It's all about "accessories" !!

I'm obsessed with pitchers. This one is my favorite:)

This is what we have been using for a desk chair for the last year. Once upon a time it had a back on it but broke. So I have had my eye out for something for awhile now. I wanted something that rolled but not your basic "computer chair". I really don't like them. I also couldn't just use a chair because I wanted something with wheels.  

 I found this in Vegas while visiting my family. Good Will for only 6 dollars! Yep only 6!

It was in great condition so I sanded it and painted it white. Yes,  it is fast becoming my favorite color! 

My next project(one of many "next") is to refinish the desk that I found at a yard sale when we moved into our home just over a year ago. The white chair is my inspiration to do it! 

Pillow # 4 Finally Done

Finally finished my last pillow! I have had the other 3 done for a few weeks now. I had a hard time deciding what to put on this one. I love how it turned out.

Before and After- Lampshade

These lamps sit on the dressers next to our bed. The color is neutral but not my favorite. So I painted them white and then added a flower ribbon that I found at Hobby Lobby. Love that store!! Hate that I don't have it in my town! 

 I wanted to cover the whole shade in the flower ribbon but at 5 dollars a yard that was not going to happen. I bought 4 yards and it took about 3 just to do what I did. So if you want to do a project like this it can get pricey. Most places have coupons just keep looking! 

My Birthday 9-5

Just wanted to say thanks to all my family for making my birthday wonderful! It was a great day shopping (in Vegas), great dinner and the best cake ever! For those of you that don't know, that is a Baskin Robbins ice-cream cake! YUMMY YUMMY YUMMY! Thanks so much Love you guys!!!
