I have always liked to do projects. (My husband cringes ever time I say I have an idea!) Well one year ago my husband and I, along with the handsomest little boy you have ever seen, Gabriel moved into our first place! No it wasn't the grand home with lots of outdoor space that I had been dreaming of but a townhouse. Don't feel sorry for me though! I'm not sad! It's 2000 wonderful square feet and we have the best neighbors in the world! I'd say my one complaint is that it is very "cookie cutter"! Not my style! So the second we moved in, I went WILD! EVERYTHING was the same color! Wall, baseboards, ceiling, door, even the handrail on the staircase! And not a great color, very blah. So thus, the painting began. I have now painted my entryway 2 times (HINT DO NOT mix colors that cannot be matched again!) Painted the kitchen 3 times (HINT Do not just pick a color from the swatches. Spend the couple extra dollars and bring a couple sample jars home!) And I have painted my bedroom 3 times also. (My HINT here is to go for a more neutral color so you can change your bedding easier!) I have already decided to repaint my sons room( I just decided way too fast on this one!
Your house is like you life...always a work in progress!!
I love being a stay-at-home mom and whoever said that that was boring had NO imagination!!!
So I have started this blog to share with you wonderful people out there that being a homemaker is the best job in the world! I want to share the ups and downs of Diaper and Drill Duty. I'm so thankful that there are so many wonderful bloggers out there that have so inspired me! I now have so many favorites that I cannot keep up! My grandfather and father were wonderful craftsmen and I hope that some has rubbed off on me! I sure have the "bug". Thanks to thrifty decor chick and many others I have put up 2 different kinds of molding in my house, just built my first headboard :) (thanks Ana White) and have many other projects on my to do list. I hope whoever reads this may find the inspiration to know that they can do it too!

  1. Being a SAH is the best! I am also really into creating things and decorating my house. I would love to see pictures of your painting! I have not dared to go there yet :)
